Bayou Bound and traipsing through Texas Hill Country
It's Spring and the weather is warming up so it's time to hit the road again. This time to the beautiful Texas Hill Country to see the bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush bursting out all over.
However, the highlight of this trip is to witness the nightly bat emergence. An incredible, phenomenal experience!
Then it was on to Louisiana to cruise the Creole Nature Trail to see the wetlands and birds nesting, the Acardian Trail where Cajun and Creole culture is a part of everyday life and to the semi-tropical bayous with the ubiquitous alligators.
We were not disappointed and returned home richer for the experience: the warm hospitality of the Texans; the Cajuns culture and cuisine; the hot and humid weather; the seafood bounty; the warm and frequent rain with thunder and lightning; and the mosquitoes!
